Colonel Red
Colonel Red's 2nd album 'Sweet Liberation' follows on from his critically acclaimed self-produced debut 'Blue Eye Blak' supported by Gilles Peterson and Norman Jay. Dozens of top quality dance-floor favourites and album cuts have been released since characterised by Colonel Red's unique and distinctive vocal, visionary lyrics and heavy production. One such collaboration inspired the concept of 'Milez Benjiman' whose debut single went out on Ubiquity and debut album was signed to Tru Thoughts. The 'Feel Glorious' album, written entirely by Colonel Red and co-producers Gerd van Bilj & Paulo Delgado received rave reviews from The Nextmen and other high profile International DJ's. Kick-starting his own 'Ruff Language' label with the 'Roaming Lion', EP Colonel Red has already added MJ Cole and Laurent Garnier to the list of Colonel Red supporters. The 'Sweet Liberation' album brings together Colonel Red's unique and edgy street-funk sound with melodic heart-wrenching soul and transient head-nodding grooves resulting in a great lounge-listening or car-driving joint. The combination of Colonel Red's own production and joint production from West London to the Netherlands including Bugz In The Attic, Adam Rock & Flowriders with Redz own walking poetry flows beautifully enveloping you in a timeless but modern spiritual-soul experience.
