DJ Qu
Yet another essential record from the world of Levon Vincent, this time inviting like-minded peers Anthony Parasole & Fred P alongside Jus-Ed to version DJ Qu's hypno-house killer 'Party People Clap' on a hefty double 12" pack. Qu's tripping original is easily worth your attention for a start, syncing warped woodwind to crisp claps and a stoned vocal intoning the title, which Vincent duly takes the wind out of with a moodier grumble of hollow, metal-rubbed bass and pistoning hi-hats. On the second disc Fred P and Anthony Parasole show their calibre with a terrific technofied version, rearranging a well developed build of raw machine drums and spooked FX, before Jus-Ed shines through with his superb deep house version, clipping the rhythm for swinging dancers and adding hazy keys with NYC strings hovering in the background. Pure pleasure for the deepest house heads
