Homegrown Records owner Fredrik Lager aka Freddie Cruger aka Red Astaire met Linn Segolson, a singer and songwriter from Stockholm with a background in gospel and jazz music, for the first time in a recording studio in 1998. Since then, Linn's vocals have appeared on quite a few tracks of Freddie's starting with one entitled "On My Way" on his "Moving Amongst the Madness EP" on to other various releases including the "SoulSearch" album by Mr. Cruger. "Waiting For Spring" was made out of pure love for good music, and it shows as all songs are written, arranged, produced, and mixed by Linn &Freddie. This 11 song album of ultra tight production touches on soul, good ol' fashion hip hop, and future folk. There's a wide spectrum of cuts here from the single "Blip Blop", which is full of electronic goodness and 8-bit video game stylings, to the bare-boned and honest "Available", to the boom bap on "Beneath His Wing". Guest artists include Anthony David, Kent Segolson, ADL, and Mad Midget.
