Matias Aguayo
…lives between Buenos Aires and Paris, djing, making music, performing concerts alone and together with Marcus Rossknecht with their project “BROKE!”.
Born 73 in Santiago de Chile he musically grew up in Cologne, Germany,
where he spent the whole 90ies living and contributing to the scene of this city which would have such a deep influence on dancemusic. He was there, as clubkid and dj (e.g. of the legendary Liquid Sky Club) experiencing the creation of new musical styles and contributing by organizing parties and being involved in musical productions such as the project Zimt (w/ Michael Mayer, 1997). Soon he would come up with a new project: Closer Musik (w/ Dirk Leyers). Touring from disco to disco and around the world, performing livesets which also took him to Buenos Aires, Argentina - where he stayed for some time and never really left, organizing temporary free club spaces like the “juventud clandestina” (clandestine youth) and the “hoy” club - a period reflected in Matias’ Album “Are You Really Lost” (Kompakt, 2005).
his main activity nowadays consists in making free parties on the streets together with his friends Ladybumbox, Gary and Pablo, the legendary “bumbumbox” parties in capitals and big cities of Southamerica (Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Asuncion in Paraguay, Sao Paulo, Medellin in Colombia, Santiago de Chile, etc…)
In his djsets (which are partly livesets, considering the integration of singing and a couple of instruments), Matias celebrates his vision of dancemusic, with intensity and sensuality, nights where people dance to dark disco gems, futuristic visions of underground house, nocturnal and groovedriven techno, and obviously lots of unreleased tracks, dancing and singing on top included…
Matias Aguayo is now working on a new album, new releases of 12” are soon about to come on Kompakt and on Souljazz Records…

20 Jahre Intro

Intro feiert dieser Tage sein 20-jähriges Jubiläum. Zwischen November und Februar finden bundesweit intime Abende statt, bevor wir es am ersten März-Wochenende mit zwei Indoor-Festivals in Berlin und Köln so richtig wissen wollen.
Was einst als Fanzine im beschaulichen Melle-Dratum begonnen hat, chaotisch und voller Enthusiasmus, wird heute in Köln und Berlin deutlich geordneter und als richtiges, also RICHTIGES Magazin produziert – aber mit dem gleichen Enthusiasmus. Zugegeben, ein bisschen was haben wir in den 20 Jahren auch über Businesspläne und Strategie gelernt, aber letztlich ist es doch vor allem das Herz, das den Takt schlagen lässt. Denn die Liebe zum aufgeregten Magazin-Machen möchten wir einfach nur bis zu einem gewissen Grad professionalisieren – was vor allem an dem liegt, worüber wir Tag ein und Nacht aus so schreiben: der Musik. Musik als Lebensinhalt. Ein Privileg.
Eines, das wir immer wieder teilen wollen. Mit geschriebenen Worten, aber auch im persönlichen Austausch. Wie singt Philipp Poisel in seinem Song »Ich und Du« so schön: »Du und ich und ich und du«. Genau so soll sich das anfühlen bei unseren Events, die zwischen November und Februar über Deutschland verstreut stattfinden werden. Gemeinsam mit unseren Freunden von Melt! Booking haben wir uns vorgenommen, eine Veranstaltungsserie zu kreieren, die sich zurückbesinnt auf die Anfangstage von Intro – und auch die der meisten Künstler, die wir in die »20 Jahre Intro«-Feierlichkeiten mit einbeziehen.
Jetzt müsst nur noch ihr alle mit dabei sein! Wir freuen uns auf euch!
