Turkish born artist, currently residing in New York, bringing brand new
flavaz, a new dimension to music by lacing hip-hop beats with ethnic
influences and a hypnotizing sound while we are approaching millennium,
Sultana is approaching music globally, uniting the orient and the west
musically, artistically and lyrically. Like bridges spanning over
Bosphorus (in İstanbul) connecting the two continents Europe and Asia,
Sultana is architecting a new style hip-hop with a sensual touch of
belly dancing. It is a pioneering
movement; multi-talented, multi-cultural, multi-lingual. Her subject
matter is social issues, life and experiences, sometimes humorous,
sometimes political, passionate,sophisticated, sometimes fun and most
of it all she is real. Musical influences varies from old and new
school hip-hop to wide variety of both eastern and western music
Sultana has been seen in many venues including, Wetlands, BCGB Gallery,
Izzy Bar & Brownies (NYC), International Parliament Jazz Festival
(İzmir-Turkey).
