Télépopmusik is a French electronic music trio. The group’s first album was Genetic World, and several singles from the album have been released since. The group’s second album, Angel Milk was released in 2005. Télépopmusik consists of musicians Fabrice Dumont (bass of the pop band Autour de Lucie), Stephan Haeri (also known as 2 Strike for his solo projects), and Christophe Hetier. Most of the vocals are provided by Angela McCluskey, formerly of the folk band Wild Colonials.
Experience from these previous bands quite simply allowed them to avoid the easy pitfall of samples and to use their skills as instrumentalists (drums, guitar, double bass, keyboard) for the record and each one was naturally able to find his position in the group; Fabrice, who has already collaborated with Katerine, Anna Karina and Françoiz Breut, creates the arrangements and the sound architecture, Stephan, who is trained as a sound engineer and in electro-acoustics, is responsible for building this unique sound that is both gentle and dense, and Christophe, night-selector and DJ under the name of Antipop, has the task of creating the groove out of scratches, noises, vocals taken from television programmes, and finding the voices that are featured throughout this album.
